The pilot
Flies the Hawk, holds the corridor, puts the jet where the shot is. Never touches a weapon.
Meet the unitsInverted Motorsports flies the BAE Hawk in the Jet World Championship. Real jets fight in a marked box of sky above the arena, and the person pulling the trigger sits on the ground.

Meet the unitsSits at a sealed station on the ground with a live radar feed. Every shot and every flare is theirs alone.
Meet the unitsA two-seat trainer that behaves itself at low altitude. We run two, keep a third as a spare, and fly the same type all season.
The aircraftFounding partner places are open. The first names on an Inverted Hawk go here.
Be the firstYou get the round report before anyone else, first pick of the store, the members' patch and a seat in the Q&A after each Grand Battle. Founding places stop at 500.
We enter two Competition Units. Each one is a Hawk, a pilot in it and a gamer at a station on the ground. The pilot cannot score alone and the gamer cannot get close alone, so they train as a pair from the first day.
Selected, training on the Hawk, and already flying the corridor in the simulator with the gamer beside them. Name and callsign go public with the full line-up, before the first launch in Doha.
The first seat we filled. Reads a radar picture faster than anyone we tested, and has never once asked to fly the jet. Revealed with the line-up, alongside the pilot they shoot for.
Members hear first.
Pilot and gamer walk the corridor on the map, agree who they are hunting and where the resets are. The crew chief signs the jet off.
The Hawk takes the queue. The gamer takes the station, headset on, radar feed live. From here the only voice the pilot hears from the team is the gamer's.
The pilot puts the jet in position. Only the gamer can fire or drop a flare. The championship server rules on every shot, and nobody argues with it.
+1 for a confirmed hit, −1 for one sustained. A hit jet smokes, leaves the corridor, lands and joins the back of the queue.
Owns the entry, the partners and the one rule the team will not bend: both seats score, or neither does.
Airworthiness, ferry planning, the spare airframe and the weather call. Fourteen venues, two Hawks on the ramp at every one.
The data feed, the gamers' preparation and the debrief after every sortie. Turns a radar picture into a confirmed hit.
Eleven of us travel with two jets for fourteen rounds. Ask anyone in the hangar what the gamer is looking at, and they will tell you.
Signs both jets off. Last word on the ramp.
Positioning feed, radios, the sealed JWC equipment.
Hawk structures and engine, between and during rounds.
Prepare the gamers, read the data, run the debrief.
Freight, ferry flights, crew travel, base set-up at each venue.
Hangar, station and simulator, every round.
Runs the suite and the Thursday walk-through.
Second seat for media and hospitality flights.
One compact hangar holds both Hawks, the spare and a glass-walled simulator room with two linked stations. On the road, the whole operation goes into freight on Monday morning. From the second season, the simulator opens for corporate days and the academy.
We picked it for how it flies at 1,500 feet. The brochure numbers came second.
The Hawk was built to teach people to fly fast jets, so it stays predictable when you push it. In the corridor everything happens low and tight, and a sloppy turn gets you shot.
A trainer fleet costs less to keep flying. That is how we can promise to turn up at all fourteen rounds, including the long-haul ones.
The back seat lets us take partners, cameras and guests up in the same jets we fight in. No second aircraft type, no extra airframe.
Competition equipment is supplied and sealed by JWC. The team may not modify the station, the smoke system or the countermeasure cartridges.

Graphite all over, a cyan inverted V on the tail and our name in white along the side. The rest is bare on purpose, ready for partners. The map below shows each panel.
Every aircraft a team enters must be the same type for the whole season, declared at registration and checked at the pre-season compliance inspection. We bring a spare to every round, so a technical problem never costs us a start.
Throttle Jet Team is the other Hawk in the championship. The Airframe Award goes to the aircraft type with the most points, so every point they score helps the Hawk. We still want to beat them.
Season one starts in Doha on 24 February 2029 and finishes in Miami on 17 November, with a break for freight on 1 September. Dates follow the JWC working calendar and can still move.
Teams score points for where they finish each round, under the JWC Technical Regulations. If two teams are level after the last round, they settle it with a sudden-death sortie before the podium. The Airframe Award goes to the aircraft type with the most points.
Jets fly a marked corridor of airspace above the arena. A gamer on the ground fires simulated weapons through a central server. Hits are scored. A hit jet trails smoke, leaves the corridor and rejoins the queue. Nobody gets shot.
A defined box of airspace above the arena. Nothing flies below 1,500 feet over the crowd.
One jet, one pilot in it, one gamer on the ground. They score together.
The pilot flies and positions. Only the gamer fires or drops a flare, from a sealed station.
A central system reads every jet's position many times a second and rules on each shot. Its call is final.
Plus one for a confirmed hit, minus one for a hit sustained. Negative scores are possible.
Smoke on, exit the corridor, land, rejoin the queue. Then go again.
Opening ceremony, the Village opens, technical inspection, hangar walk-throughs. The quiet day, and the one to meet the team.
Our hangar walk-through is at 16:00. It is the only hour the canopy is open for photos.
Practice sorties, support programme, first sight of the gamers at their stations. The corridor is live for the first time.
Stand at the station side of the Village after practice. The gamers debrief in the open.
Qualifying, support combat, display flying. Qualifying sets the Sunday order.
Bring ear protection for children. The Hawk is quieter than most, but it is still a jet.
The Grand Battle, then the Grand Podium and the closing show. Both our units fly. The score is live on the venue screens.
Sit where you can see the length of the corridor, not the start of it. The hits happen mid-box.
Exact session times are published per round in the JWC Technical Regulations.
Best pilot and gamer pair of the event.
Highest individual score across the season.
Highest individual score across the season.
Highest cumulative team points. Level on points, it goes to a sudden-death sortie.
The Airframe Award goes to the aircraft type with the most points across all teams. The Hawk's chances depend on two teams.
No jet flies below 1,500 feet over spectators, and the corridor sits back from the crowd line. The weapons are simulated. Only the smoke and the flares are real, and both are checked on Thursday.
No. Shots are fired by the gamer at a ground station and adjudicated by a central server using the jets' positions. A hit turns the target's smoke on.
Fast enough that the corridor is crossed in seconds, slow enough that a turn matters. The Hawk is subsonic; the contest is about position, not speed.
Thursday's hangar walk-through and the suite on Friday and Saturday both include scheduled time with the team. See Experiences.
Ear protection for children, sun cover, and something to sit on if you are in the Village. Binoculars are optional; the screens carry the score.
Not at rounds in the first season. From the second season the team base runs simulator days and an academy; join the waitlist on Experiences.
Along its length, not at its end. Each round's venue map on Season marks the corridor side.

With us you get your name on two jets, four athletes to work with and a result to talk about after every round. The championship sells category exclusivity and the Official JWC title. You can have both, and we check your category with JWC before anything is signed.
This wall is empty because nobody has signed yet. The Jet World Championship has not flown a single round, so whoever takes the nose of an Inverted Hawk will be the first title partner this sport has ever had. Nobody gets to be first after that.

Our suite is the team's own room at every round, run by the people who look after the jets. It is smaller than the championship hospitality, and closer to the hangar.
Weekend pass · Friday to Sunday · 40 places per round
All three public sessions from the team suite. Catering through the day, an escorted hangar walk-through timed to the schedule, a crew briefing on the combat system, and scheduled time with the pilots and the gamers. Groups of eight or more take a private table.
Half day · groups of up to 10
The quiet day. Technical inspection from the hangar, the canopy-open hour, and a session with the crew chief on what the jet has to pass before it flies. Ends before the opening ceremony.
Team base · from Season 2 · groups of up to 12
An hour in the pilot seat and an hour at the gamer station, flown against each other on the two linked stations, debriefed by a team pilot and a team gamer. Most people leave with a strong opinion about which seat is harder.
Team base · from Season 2 · published curriculum
An amateur pilot and gamer programme in the simulator, with a head-to-head at the end of each course. It is also where the team looks first for its next seats.
